Wildlife Viewing

There is an abundance of wildlife in Beaver County. One of the most sought-after viewings is of the mountain goats that roam on Delano.

Plan a day to hike to Delano Peak and you’ll be well rewarded with its vast open views and easy-to-spot mountain goat herds. If you take your dog, please keep it on a leash so it won’t harass the goats.

If you visit in late summer and early fall, the Tushar mountains are home to beautiful elk. You may get the opportunity to hear the bugling, which is incredible. So, sit and listen for it!

Highlights Highlights

Maybe you’re a peakbagger collecting all the Utah highpoints, or maybe you just like the way the sun sets behind purple desert mountains. Either way, these are your mountains. Indian Peak Nestled within a forest of aspen and mixed conifer, Tushar Lake offers great fishing, hiking, canoeing, sand volleyball and wildlife viewing.  Tushar Lake Wake up at your campsite to see herds of deer and elk grazing in the meadow, with Mount Holly, Mount Belknap, and Delano Peak in the distance. Big Flat Despite its height, the Peak is non-technical. If you’re lucky, you’ll spy herds of mountain goats scrambling across the talus during your trek.  Delano Peak
