Beaver County's history goes back as far as the earliest pioneers who rode their wagons into the Tushars to carve ice from what is now known as the ice caves.

Since then, miners have come and run kilns that still stand near Milford City, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers restored the Beaver Courthouse and curated its contents into a museum, and local inventor Philo T. Beaver Courthouse Museum
Founded in 1867 at the behest of Mormon pioneer Brigham Young, Cove Fort has likely survived for more than a century and a half. Cove Fort Drive west from Milford about 25 miles until you reach the Frisco town ruins. Located at the base of the San Francisco Mountains, Frisco is now the remains of an old mining town. Frisco Ghost Town First founded in 1856, though inhabited much earlier by indigenous people, Beaver City was named for the many beaver dams found in the area.
